Just 40 miles east of Eugene, in the heart of the McKenzie River Valley, the McKenzie Community Track is a perfect training facility for teams competing in the 2021 IAAF World Track Championships. Designed and built a few years ago by the same Architects and Contractors who renovated Hayward Field, the McKenzie Community Track has the same surfaces and dimensions as Hayward.

Located in a breathtaking setting of the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, and in tandem with nearby training and lodging facilities, we are able to offer everything IAAF Teams will need to prepare and compete at the highest levels in the 2021 World Track Championships. Weight rooms, running trails and additional practice facilities are all available a short distance away.
The McKenzie River is 90 miles (145 km) long, with 12 miles of its the upper reaches as ‘Wild and Scenic.’ Known for its cold, crystal clear water and pure mountain setting the McKenzie River Valley is home to all types of athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. Marathoners and distance-runners, whitewater rafters and kayakers, anglers and dry fly-fisherman, hikers and backpackers, mountain and rock climbers, bicyclists and golfers, and nature-lovers from all over the world travel here to train and prepare. Plus there’s plenty of recreational opportunities for those travelling with the competitors as well.
The McKenzie River Valley has 379 rooms for rent in our various lodges. St. Benedict’s Lodge, for example, can accommodate 84 persons in the large group package: 44 persons in private, one-bed rooms; 20 persons in five rooms that each have 4 beds/room and 12 persons in a dormitory which has 6 beds per room. The three Community Centers within the Valley have kitchen facilities, and some commercial kitchens are also available. Along with the kitchens there are multiple restaurants and catering services in the Valley that can provide foods to meet the strictest dietary needs.
